Regional Police Officer (RPO) Sheikhupura Babar Sarfraz has said that no policemen on poll duty are allowed to touch any election material.

Addressing a press conference in Sheikhupura, the RPO added that all the policemen have been briefed thoroughly about this.

“We want to ensure that the impartiality of police is visible in the eyes of the people on polling day,” Sarfraz added.

He said that a special force had been formed for election duty, which consisted of retired personnel and other government department employees.

“We also checked the affiliations of civilian volunteers and had them cleared before recruiting them,” the RPO said.
