Video games or sports?

This is regarding the story “Video games and sports” by Muhammad Ahmed Bilal (YW, January 6).

Children these days are more into video gaming than physical games, and this is where the story advised children to take more interest in sports than video games.

Playing sports is a better and healthier choice than spending too much time on video games. Video games can affect our eyes and brains if played too much, besides leading to various other health-related issues. On the other hand, sports help us stay physically and mentally fit.

I recommend everyone reading this article to choose sports over wasting time on video games and other such activities.

The girl who hated books

This is concerning the story “The girl who hated books” by Zartasha Butt (YW, January 6). The story reminded all of us that we have control over our destiny.

It depends mainly on how we see things, face our insecurities and problems, and what steps we should take to solve them.

Our positive thinking can significantly influence our future; therefore, we should always take an optimistic approach to life and help people around us by making them become better versions of themselves.

How to stick to New Year resolutions

This is concerning the cover article “How to stick to New Year resolutions” by Zara Naz (YW, January 6). The article provided tips on following and achieving goals step by step, and suggested creating a daily to-do list, as completing one task encourages the mind to move on to the next, allowing us to finish all activities separately in the process.

While the article covered many aspects, I believe the writer could have provided more examples for readers to relate to in their daily lives.

II

The article “How to stick to New Year resolutions” by Zara Naz was an inspiration toward the new phase of life — 2024. We should all set goals for this year and try to fulfil them not in one go, but slowly and one after the other.

New Year is like a book full of blank pages. We fill these pages with our failures and achievements. So, in my opinion, one should keep the spirits high while trying and never stop trying to fulfil our goals.
