Charged workers of PTI, PPP clash outside RO office
HYDERABAD: Activists of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) clashed with each other on Friday when they had gathered outside the returning officer’s (RO) office in the Public School Latifabad to get Form 47.
The activists along with their contesting candidates wanted to get results from the RO of NA-219 (Latifabad) and NA-220 (City) because the results for NA-218 and its connected Sindh Assembly seats PS-60 of Jam Khan Shoro and PS-61 of Sharjeel Inam Memon had been issued quite earlier.
Eventually, party activists of the two sides kept skirmishing with each other till evening when a major scuffle broke out.
Law enforcers and police intervened to control the situation by resorting to baton charge and teargas shelling, and dispersed the crowd.
Two PTI activists, Naurez and Rashid, were said to have received bullet injuries. They were shifted to Liaquat University Hospital (LUH) city branch. One MQM-P activist was beaten by the PTI workers as well.
The PTI blamed the MQM-P for causing injuries to his worker while the latter claimed that they were cele-brating when the scuffle broke out.
