PTI carries the day in Jhang, TT Singh

TOBA TEK SINGH: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) candidates dominated Jhang and Toba Tek Singh districts, securing victory in five out of six National Assembly (NA) seats and 12 Provincial Assembly (PA) seats, out of 13.

JHANG: PTI candidates clinched victory on all three NA and all seven PP seats. In NA-108, PTI candidate Sahibzada Mehboob Sultan defeated PML-N’s Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat. Under this NA seat on PA-125 and PA-131, PTI-backed candidates Ghulam Ahmed Gadi and Azam Chela won, defeating PML-N candidates Mr Hayat (who contested on both NA and PA seats simultaneously) and Faisal Jaboana.

In NA-109, Sheikh Waqas Akram defeated the Rah-i-Haq Party candidate Muhammad Ahmed Ludhianvi. Under the same NA seats -- PA-126, PA-127, and PA-128 -- PTI-backed candidates Nawaz Bharwana, Sheikh Akram, and Ghazanfar Abbas defeated PML-N candidates Aslam Bharwana, Rashida Yaqoob, and Khalid Mahmood Sargana.

In NA-110, PTI-backed candidate Sahibzada Ameer Sultan defeated PML-N’s Asif Moawiya. Under this NA seat, on PP-129 and PP-130, PTI’s Asif Kathia and Rana Shahbaz defeated PML-N candidates Khalid Ghani and Ameer Abbas Sial.

TOBA TEK SINGH: PTI secured two out of three NA seats and five out of six PA seats.

For NA-105, PTI-backed candidate Usama Hamza defeated Khalid Javed Warraich. Under the same NA seat on PA-119 and PA-120, PTI-backed candidates Asad Zaman Cheema and Asif Ihsan Gujjar defeated PML-N’s Uqba Khalid Warraich and Qadeer Awan.

In NA-106, PML-N’s Junaid Anwar Chaudhry defeated PTI’s Khalid Nawaz Sadhraij. Under the same NA seat on PA-121, PML-N candidate Amjad Ali Javed defeated PTI-backed candidate Saeed Ahmad Saeedi, while on PP-122, PTI’s Ahmad Sher Gadhi defeated PML-N nominee retired Col Ayub Gadhi.

In NA-107, PTI-backed candidate Riaz Fatyana defeated PML-N’s Asadur Rehman Ramday, while on its PA seats PA-123 and PA-124, PTI’s Ashfa Fatyana and Sonia Ali Raza defeated independent candidate Shahid Iqbal Gujjar and PML-N’s Pir Qutab Ali Baba.

Meanwhile, PTI district president Advocate Mian Abdul Basit alleged that the results of NA-106 and PP-121 were changed with alleged rigging.

He said on NA-106, PTI’s Sadhraij and on PA-122, PTI’s Saeed Ahmad Saeedi had won, but the results were given after several hours of delay, in which they were announced as defeated. He demanded a recount of votes for both, as Sadhraij faced defeat with a margin of less than one hundred, and Saeedi was declared defeated with a difference of just 49 votes compared to the winners.
