Pensioner leaves $2.8m to her pets
An elderly Chinese woman is leaving her 20-million-yuan ($2.8 million) fortune to her pet cats and dogs.
Some years back in her first will, the woman had split her possessions among her three children, but she recently changed it after being neglected by her human offspring. Her children hardly ever contact her and don’t visit her, so she has decided to leave all her assets to the only creatures that have always been by her side — her pet cats and dogs.
Unfortunately, Chinese law forbids people from leaving possessions directly to their pets. So, after consulting a lawyer, Liu found a way around it — she appointed a veterinary clinic as the administrator of her wealth, entrusting it with caring for her beloved pets.
Hyper-realistic edible ice-cream flower bouquets
A Japanese café is serving a variety of ice-cream bouquets that are only available for a limited time, depending on the season. You can treat yourself to creamy roses, lilac, Japanese camellia, and many more flavourful wonders.
Located inside Kyoto’s ShinPuhKan shopping complex, (THISIS)SHIZEN is considered to be offering the most beautiful ice cream in the world.
The main ingredient for these gorgeous ice-cream flowers is anko, a sweet red bean paste made from boiled azuki beans that are mashed into a thick paste and mixed with sugar. Its texture and taste are comparable to cooked sweet potato. The edible bouquets come in a variety of colours and flavours that can be mixed to each customer’s preferences.
The world’s smallest humanoid robot
A group of four budding engineers at a Hong Kong school broke a Guinness World Record for the world’s smallest humanoid robot.
Aaron Ho Yat Fung, Isaac Zachary To, Justin Wang Tou Duong and Ngo Hei Leung, members of the robotics team at the Diocesan Boys’ School, built a robot measuring 5.55 inches tall, .44 inches shorter than the previous record holder, made by Zain Ahmad Qureshi from Lahore, Pakistan, in 2022.
The rules for the smallest humanoid robot category require the automaton to be capable of bipedal movement, and to articulate its shoulders, elbows, knees and hips.
Man plays World of Warcraft for nearly 60 hours
A dedicated gamer from Hungary played World of Warcraft for a consecutive 59 hours and 20 minutes, breaking two Guinness World Records in the process.
Barnabás Vujity-Zsolnay, a chef from Budapest, bested the previous record for the longest video game marathon playing an MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game), by 23 hours and 31 minutes.
Vujity-Zsolnay also was awarded the record for the longest video game marathon playing World of Warcraft. The gamer, whose attempt was streamed live from the studio of the gaming website, was allowed five-minute breaks each hour.
Fatigue caused Vujity-Zsolnay to start hallucinating after about 45 hours of gaming, but he did not consume any caffeine during his attempt, and drank only water.
