Poll violence victim dies in hospital
NAWABSHAH: A worker of Pakistan Peoples Party, who had sustained serious injuries in a clash with Grand Democratic Alliance activists on the election day in Moro died at the Peoples Medical University Hospital (PMUH) the other day.
Bilawal Zardari and two other PPP workers were injured in the clash at a polling station in Ali Bakhsh Solangi village in Moro taluka on the election day. Zardari had sustained serious wounds and admitted to PMUH in precarious condition but died at last.
An FIR was lodged at Moro police station against National Peoples Party chairman and candidate of GDA for NA-208 (Naushahro Feroze-II) Ghulam Murtaza Khan Jatoi, his son, guards and workers under relevant sections of Anti-Terrorism Act and Pakistan Penal Code over the poll violence.
Naushahro Feroze SP Suhai Aziz said that a few suspects had been arrested after the registration of FIR and a team comprising senior officers had been constituted to ensure impartial investigation into the case.
Mr Jatoi termed the charges fabricated and part of political victimisation. He and other suspects in the case had already obtained a 10-day pre-arrest bail from Sindh High Court.
