KARACHI: A man was shot dead in New Karachi on Sunday, police and rescue services said.

They said that Javed Ghaffar, 45, was shot at and critically wounded by unknown assailants near Sindhi Hotel in Sector-5-J at around 9:30am.

He was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he died during treatment in the evening.

The Bilal Colony police said in a statement that the victim was murdered over ‘personal enmity’.

However, an Edhi Foundation spokesperson said that he was killed by robbers over resistance.
