Star Wars: The Mandalorian gets filming start date

Disney and Lucasfilm’s announced that The Mandalorian & Grogu feature, directed by series creator Jon Favreau, will start shooting June 17 in Los Angeles, where the first three seasons of the hit Disney+ series were also filmed.

The Mandalorian season 3 ended with helmeted bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and his Mandalorian apprentice Grogu, colloquially referred to as ‘Baby Yoda’, settling on the planet Nevarro in the Outer Rim of the galaxy. Laying low in a cabin on the outskirts of High Magistrate Greef Karga’s (Carl Weathers) territory, Din offered to work with Adelphi Ranger Captain Carson Teva (Paul Sun-Hyung Lee) as an independent contractor and help the fledgling New Republic hunt down Imperial remnants in the shadows of the Empire.

Avatar 3 will be a tougher ride, says Cameron

Cameron’s third Avatar movie isexpected to be in theatres in December 2025.

The filmmaker teased in a recent interview that Avatar 3 will be ‘a tougher ride’ than The Way of Water, and will present totally new challenges to the characters. Cameron also told interviewers that he was happy to keep playing in the Avatar universe for a while.

“It’s just a continuation of the epic,” Cameron told. “You’ll see new environments, new characters. The characters that you know and love will be challenged even more, and go through some trials and tribulations. I think it’s going to be a tougher ride than A2, in a good way.”
