PTI will seek accountability of police through various forums, vows MNA Omar Ayub
National Assembly Opposition Leader Omar Ayub has said the PTI would seek accountability of the police across the country.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, the PTI MNA asserted his party would do so, “whether it is through the […], privileges committees, adjournment motion, Public Accounts Committee, human rights committees or the interior committee”.
“We will see that during this period, did they fulfil their primary duty of protecting the public [or] did the rate of crime increase or decrease,” he added.
“Instead of fulfilling their primary duty and working against dacoits and crimes, […], they had only one mission; their leader had told them to crush the PTI,” the PTI MNA alleged.
Ayub further stated he would not call the police officials “officers but personal servants”, adding that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz would be summoned and questioned about how they were “violating their oaths”.
