PPP candidate Yousaf Raza Gilani has secured the Senate seat from Islamabad with 204 votes against the 88 votes of Sunni Ittehad Council’s candidate Chaudhary Ilyas Mehrban.

A total of 301 votes were cast while nine were rejected during counting.
