IHC permits correspondence with Imran Khan through video conference, Marwat says
PTI leader Sher Afzal Marwat confirmed the Islamabad High Court’s (IHC) decision to allow online interactions with Imran Khan, who is currently incarcerated at Adiala Jail, following a two-week ban imposed on all public meetings at the facility earlier this week.
The ban came into effect owing to ‘security threats’ — a move denounced by the PTI as contrary to court orders.
Marwat praised the court’s “excellent development” in allowing video conferences for those who are incarcerated. He said the judge noted that this decision solves the issue of “security threats” during in-person meetings.
When asked by reporters outside the IHC, where he was speaking, who would be allowed to video call Imran, Marwat said he would consult with Niazi and Khan and submit a list to the jail authorities.
