MANSEHRA: District police officer Zahoor Babar Afridi on Thursday ordered the reshuffling of the station house officers of all 17 police stations in Mansehra district.

The move is made for better policing, according to a statement issued by the district police.

The police said the SHOs whose reshuffle was ordered included Anis Khan of the city police station, Shujahat Hussain of the Lari Adda police station, Israr Hussain of the Saddar police station, Tahir Saleem of the Khaki police station, Sajid Farooq of the Shinkiari police station, Maqasood Ali Shah of theNawazabad police station, Azhar Mushtaq of the Baffa police station, Aurangzeb Khan of the Battal police station, Mohammad Faisal of the Balakot police station, Mohammad Waheed of the Paras police station, Shamsul Islam of the Kaghan police station, Raja Sajid Hussain of the Naran police station, Liaquat Shah of the Garhi Habibullah police station, Waheed Murad of the Oghi police station, Fahad Shah of the Darband police station, Saad Amir Hussain of the Pulrah police station and Muqadar Shah of the Lassan Nawab police station.

They said all those SHOs got new assignments in the district or were told to report to the police lines.

PROFITEERS HELD: The administration of Baffa-Pakhal tehsil here on Thursday arrested over a dozen traders and sealed many shops for selling essential goods at prices higher than those fixed by the district price control and review committee before the start of the current month of Ramazan.

The action was carried out by a joint team of the food department and tehsil administration led by assistant commissioner of Baffa-Pakhal Novaria Farooq.

The team paid surprise visits to bazaars in Battal and adjoining areas and acted against profiteers, including meat and kebab sellers.

Ms Farooq warned that the administration would strictly deal with those flouting the notified prices of essential goods. She said surprise visits to bazaars across Baffa-Pakhal tehsil would continue all through Ramazan to the relief of consumers.

ARRESTED: The police on Thursday arrested the leader of an interprovincial robbery gang and seized stolen goods, gold ornaments, vehicles, cattle, and cash.

“After the arrest of ringleader Dost Mohammad, we’re carrying out raids to arrest other members of the gang,” superintendent of police (central) Bilal Ahmad told reporters here on Thursday.

Accompanied by Pakhal Circle deputy superintendent of police Arshad Khan and Khaki SHO Israr Khan, Mr Ahmad said district police officer Zahoor Babar Afridi had formed a team to bust the robbery gang wanted by the police in the district and other parts of the country.
