Swabi medic arrested after patient dies from ‘wrong’ injection
SWABI: The police arrested a doctor after a patient died allegedly due to a wrong injection here on Friday.
Sources said Wahab Sher, hailing from Tordher village of Chota Lahor tehsil, was brought to the clinic of Dr Jehanzeb, who gave him an injection for allergy, but the patient died.
Later, the relatives placed the body on the Swabi-Jehangira Road to demand immediate arrest of the doctor.
The road remained blocked to traffic for some time.
The family also registered an FIR against the doctor in the Tordher police station.
SHO Altaf Khan told Dawn that the accused had been arrested.
WORKSHOP: Speakers at a workshop held at Swabi Women University here on Friday urged the government to frame a result-oriented policy for forest conservation.
Dr Mohammad Wahab from the varsity’s department of botany was the keynote speaker at the seminar titled ‘forest dynamics and climate change’.
Members of faculty and students from different disciplines participated in the workshop.
The participants gained insights into the importance of sustainable forest management practices and the role of women in environmental conservation efforts.
Dr Wahab highlighted that the pressing threats posed by climate change to forest ecosystems, citing increased wildfires, altered species composition and the proliferation of pests and diseases. He emphasised the need for taking immediate measures to save forests and protect environment.
