Three brothers booked for gang rape of girl
TOBA TEK SINGH: Ahmadpur Sial police in Jhang registered on Tuesday a gang-rape case against three men [brothers] of Kabirwala (Khanewal) who had allegedly abducted an 11-year-old girl in connivance with her elder sister.
Complainant ‘S’ of Mauza Sadhana stated in his first information report registered under section 375A of the Pakistan Penal Code that his daughter ‘R’ who is married in Kabirwala, orchestrated the kidnapping of her younger sister ‘B’.
According to the complainant, his married daughter had come to their [parents] house and stayed overnight. He alleged that his daughter had administered a sedative in the meal to the entire family. When they became unconscious, she called her three brothers-in-law (husband’s brothers) who took the victim to Kabirwala, where they confined her in a house for two days and subjected her to gang rape.
The complainant said the victim managed to escape from their custody and upon returning home, she disclosed her abduction and rape.
A police spokesperson said one of the suspects ‘S’ has been arrested, and raids are under way to arrest the other two as well as the elder sister of the victim.
DPO Muhammad Rahid Hidayat has instructed the investigation SP to personally supervise the case.
In a separate incident in Jhang, the Kotwali police arrested two men on Tuesday for allegedly raping a young fast food delivery boy, along with three accomplices.
According to the police spokesperson, on Monday night, the boy went to deliver a pizza order to the suspects at Marjana Chowk. Both suspects allegedly raped him at gunpoint along with their three accomplices.
FOOD EXPO: A two-day Lyallpur Industrial Expo and International Food Conference concluded here on Tuesday at Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF).
The expo featured stalls set up by various companies, showcasing food processing machinery and food items.
The event was organised by GCUF Industrial Linkages department in collaboration with the Embassy of Denmark.
An international conference was also organised on this occasion. Food experts and scientists addressed awareness sessions on food security and environmental pollution.
The conference was attended by international food experts, chief executives of national and international food manufacturing companies and CEOs of various industries in Denmark.
The aim of the industrial expo was to provide business opportunities to students and the city of Faisalabad as well as to provide technical training and scholarships to students.
Director Industrial Linkages Dr Umair Arshad Bajwa said local and international food business had been promoted through the exhibition and its main objective was to promote safe and healthy food culture and foreign direct investment. Denmark Ambassador Jakob Linulf visited the expo stalls.
FIRE: A couple was critically burnt after a fire broke out in their house near Mughal Market located on Maqbool Road, Faisalabad.
Rescue 1122 extinguished the fire and rescued Muhammad Jameel (55) and his wife Robina Bibi (45) and shifted them to the burn unit of Allied hospital. The fire was caused by an electric short circuit.
