Walk held in Haripur to promote enrolment
HARIPUR: District education officer Mukhtar Khan Jadoon on Thursday urged parents, teachers and other members of society to help authorities enrol all children in schools.
He was addressing participants of a walk organised by the teachers and students of the Government Centennial ModelHigher Secondary School Kot Najibullah to promote the enrolment campaign of the education department here.
The school’s children and staff, led by principal Dr Amir Atiq Sidiqi and DEO Mukthar Khan Jadoon marched on the Haripur-Taxila Road carrying banners advocating education for all.
The DEO said it was the responsibility of all members of society, including parents and teachers, to identify all out-of-school children for enrolment.
He said over 9,000 boys would be enrolled in government schools in the district during the current academic year, while around 8,000 students had already been “facilitated” for enrolment to different schools.
School principal Dr Amir Atiq Siddiqui highlighted new enrolments.
The DEO also visited classrooms and labs and appreciated teachers for their good work.
