Central Asian Volleyball Championship starts today
ISLAMABAD: Teams from six countries are set to take part in the Central Asian Volleyball Championship, which kicks off here at the Pakistan Sports Complex on Saturday.
The likes of Iran, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and hosts Pakistan will go up against each other in the tournament, which ends on May 17.
The event’s trophy was unveiled here on Friday, with Pakistan Volley Ball Federation (PVF) chairman Chaudhry Mohammad Yaqoob along with teams officials of touring teams sharing the details of the tournaments.
The opening match of the tournament, between Turkmenistan and Iran, will start at 1:00pm. The game will be followed by the contest between Sri Lanka and Kyrgyzstan. The opening ceremony of the tournament will be held in the evening.
Following the ceremony, action will continue with a riveting match between Pakistan and Afghanistan at 6:30 PM, setting the stage for an exciting start to the tournament.
