PML-N MPA’s family receives extortion calls
PESHAWAR: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s MPA Malik Tariq Awan has said that his family has received extortion calls from the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan.
He said that his nephews received extortion calls from Afghanistan, and the Taliban demanded Rs70 million. He added that they received another call on Sunday, where the Taliban increased the amount from Rs70 million to Rs100 million.
“They told us to pay the amount or our vehicles would be blown up,” Mr Awan told mediapersons, saying that a case had registered with the Faqirabad police station.
He also said that no high-ranking official had so far contacted him.
