Faisalabad business facilitation centre tops province in issuing NOCs

TOBA TEK SINGH: The Business Facilitation Centre (BFC) established in Faisalabad Commissioner Complex remained on top in the province by issuing a record number of NOCs to businessmen in the last three days.

A press release claimed that BFC issued 50 NOCs from 121 applications, while Lahore BFC stood second with 129 NOCs issued from 407 applications, and Multan issued 22 to gain third position. The objectives of establishing the BFC are being fulfilled, with the provision of NOCs for businesses under one roof in a short time being a priority.

FESCO: Various projects have been completed in a month by Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (Fesco) construction wing at a cost of Rs308.407 million across the region.

A spokesperson for Fesco said that 74 villages were electrified at a separate cost of Rs139 million.

DIES: An animal trader and his four buffaloes died after his pickup smashed into a trailer ahead of it on Motorway M-4 in the FIEDMC area in Chak Jhumra early on Sunday.

Rescue 1122 said that the deceased was identified as Muhammad Shahzad.

BURNT: Thousands of litres of petrol burnt after an oil tanker caught fire at a petrol filling station in Faisalabad while petrol was being unloaded into an underground tank.

A Rescue 1122 press release said that its six fire tenders controlled the fire from spreading to the station. The tanker had 30,000 litres of petrol.

ENCOUNTER: Two under-arrest robbers were allegedly killed on Sunday in an encounter with police in Faisalabad near Phlahi Wala Canal Bridge.

Chak Jhumra police Sub-Inspector Ali Akram Goraya said in his FIR registered against six unidentified outlaws that both identified as Imtiaz Jeeju, 25, and Nabeel, 30, who were arrested in robbery cases, were being taken to Chak 115 JB for the recovery of looted valuables when their six accomplices opened fire on the police van to set them free. As a result, they received bullets fired by their accomplices and died.

MURDERED: A political figure was murdered on Sunday at Gojra in his Chak 316 JB Talwandi over an irrigation water dispute.

Gojra Sadar police said Amer Ilyas Cheema was supervising irrigation to his crops when his two opponent brothers Nafees Ashraf and Shafiq Ashraf and their accomplice opened fire on him. He was shifted to Gojra THQ hospital where doctors referred him to Faisalabad’s Allied Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

GANG RAPE: Two people allegedly gang-raped a girl after kidnapping her from a locality in Gojra on Sunday.

The complainant said in her FIR registered by Gojra City police that her sister was kidnapped from the street by two suspects of Chak 298 GB. They gang-raped her. Police have shifted the alleged survivor to the THQ hospital for her medical examination.

Meanwhile, a youth and his three accomplices allegedly kidnapped a 17-year-old girl from Gojra Chak 430 JB on Sunday. Salat Bibi said in her FIR that her daughter was alone when Tasawar Ali and his unidentified accomplices forced their entry into her house and abducted her.
