Man, daughter crushed to death by tractor-trolley

SARGODHA: A man and his daughter were crushed by a tractor-trolley in Sahiwal on Monday.

Maher Muhammad Bakhsh, a former councilor, was going to drop his daughter off at school in Pathankot when the motorcycle fell as the two-wheeler slipped near Barkat Chowk, Sahiwal. A tractor-trolley coming from the Shahpur side crushed both Bakhsh and his daughter, Ayesha.

An eyewitness said the shalwar of Bakhsh got entangled in the footrest and he lost control over the bike.

TRAIN: The Pakistan Railways has indicated to change the timetable of the Chenab Express running between Lalamusa and Sargodha from June 1.

The officials promised to run the train twice a day for the convenience of the passengers.

SOLAR: Funds of Rs35m are being released to convert two jails of Sargodha district to solar panels.

An estimate of over Rs600m has been made for conversion of most of the jails of Punjab to solar energy, sources said. They added that Rs35m are being released to switch Sargodha and Shahpur jails to solar power, which would help the authorities deal with power loadshedding and other issues during the summer.
