School NGO mafia

ALL the students of Mubarak village, an ancient settlement on the outskirts of modern Karachi, have boycotted the teaching process in the building of the Government Boys Secondary School Mubarak Village owing to the attitude of the local non-governmental organisation (NGO) that has recently adopted the school. The teaching process continues in a government hospital that is located near the school, where local government teachers are busy teaching the students.

The student protest erupted when the NGO restricted the local government teachers to access the school, and banned them from teaching the students. All the teachers were qualified individuals. The quality of education significantly dropped after the teachers were banned.

The fishermen community of Mubarak village informed the managing director of Sindh Education Foundation (SEF), the provincial secretary of education and other high-ranking officials about the NGO’s attitude and demanded that the adoption agreement be cancelled with the NGO. But no one has paid any heed to such demands.

Since then, the fishermen community has not been sending its children to the said school in protest. The academic process is therefore being carried out in the area’s government hospital. The government should take the school back in its custody so that the quality of education in the area may be restored.
