Pakistan outclass Australia in volleyball opener

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan got off to a flying start in their three-match volleyball series against Australia, outclassing the visitors 3-0 in the opening fixture here at the Pakistan Sports Complex on Tuesday.

Led by Murad Jehan, the national side’s confidence from their recent title triumph in the Central Asian Volleyball Championship was evident in their dominating performance against the Australians as they registered scores of 25-22, 25-22, 25-20 across the three sets.

Their win was down to the Pakistan players’ exceptional teamwork and strategy on the court.

The series is being played as part of both teams’ preparation for next month’s Asian Volleyball Confederation Challenge Cup, which will be held in Bahrain.

Pakistan Volleyball Federation chairman Chaudhry Muhammad Yaqoob expressed his pride and satisfaction with the team’s performance.

“This victory is a great achievement for our team and a reflection of the dedication and effort put in by our players and coaching staff,” he said. “It is also a momentous occasion for the PVF, as we continue to promote and develop volleyball in Pakistan.

“This series is not only an opportunity for the Pakistani team to showcase their talent but also a significant step in strengthening international sports relations and fostering a competitive spirit among athletes.”

The next two matches will be played on Wednesday and Thursday respectively.
