HARIPUR: Pak-Austria Fachhochschule Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology organised a career festival-cum-product expo here the other day.

Employers, entrepreneurs and job seekers showed up in numbers.

The first batch of 132 students ready to graduate from the university during the current year showcased their final-year projects. They designed and completed these projects after the mandatory 500 hours of practical industry training as part of their degrees.

The event, which aimed to address real-world industry challenges, featured a total of 65 projects in the areas of energy, batteries and electric vehicles, smart digital systems, healthcare solutions, green manufacturing and intelligent software systems.

The students demonstrated live practical skills during the expo and earned kudos from the visitors mostly from local and multinational industry and IT companies.

Some of the prominent projects showcased were about energy management, power electronics, building management, electric vehicles, home automation/energy, rechargeable battery, cybersecurity, utility applications, e-commerce, molecular theranostics, biotechnology, natural compounds and Artificial Intelligence in healthcare, food industry, fertilisers, minerals, cosmetics, cement and glass industries.

A panel discussion about initiating dialogue on industry trends and academic-industry partnership, interview sessions with prospective graduates and enabling contacts between students and prospective employers were also part of the expo.
