Exhibition celebrates Pak-China ties

LAHORE: The University of Home Economics (UHE) on Tuesday organised an exhibition celebrating the cultural and environmental ties between Pakistan and China.

Chinese Consul General Zhao Shiren and UHE Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Faleeha Zahra Kazmi jointly inaugurated the exhibition.

The exhibition features artwork by university students and faculty members Ahmed Faraz and Muhammad Ashfaq that explores both the rich cultures and environmental challenges faced by both nations.

Consul General Zhao praised the exhibition, highlighting its contribution to fostering friendship and understanding between the two countries.

He expressed the Chinese consulate’s enthusiasm for continued collaboration on such initiatives, believing these joint efforts would further strengthen the longstanding relationship between the two countries.

Prof Kazmi emphasised UHE’s commitment to empowering students, promoting cultural appreciation and encouraging healthy living.

She linked the exhibition to the upcoming ‘No Plastic Day’, urging everyone to reduce plastic use, particularly plastic bags, which were a major environmental and health concern in Pakistan.

She concluded by stressing the importance of guiding young people towards healthier habits for a better future.
