Three kids die of antibiotics ‘reaction’

TOBA TEK SINGH: Three minor children died due to the alleged reaction of antibiotic injections at Khanewal’s DHQ Hospital on Tuesday.

The parents of the deceased children, six-month-old Dua Fatima, 18-month-old Ayan, and three-year-old Ramzan, told the media that they had brought their kids to the hospital for treatment of chest infection and influenza. However, all three children expired after being administered antibiotic injections.

District Health Authority CEO Dr. Ghouri said an analysis of the chemical used in the injections is being arranged. Doctors at the hospital claimed that the children were in serious condition upon arrival, which they argue was the cause of death, denying any negligence on their part.

Ramzan’s father, Abbas, claimed that the bodies of all three children were handed over to the parents without conducting autopsy. He said he repeatedly requested an autopsy for his son, but the doctors refused to do.
