Bhitshah gas cylinder blast death toll rises to four

HYDERABAD: Two more Bhitshah LPG cylinders blast victims breathed their last at Liaquat University Hospital (LUH) on Wednesday night, raising the death toll so far to four. A man had died and seven persons had suffered burns in the incident on June 7.

The latest victims were identified as Khuda Bux, 65, who had had 90pc burns, and 56-year-old Waheed Shah who had 66pc burns. Three other survivors, Bheemlal, 40, with 60pc burn injuries; Nadir Ali, 26, with 35pc wounds, and Abid, 20, having 45pc burns were still under treatment.

RMO Dr Faizan Memon said that condition of Bheemlal and Nadir Ali was improving but they were under observation whereas Abid was stable. All the patients were admitted to LUH burns ward following the blast in LPG cylinder shop in Bhitshah, Matiari district.

It was second major incident after May 30’s LPG cylinders Paretabad tragedy.
