Google team to explore collaboration in education, tech sectors in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Federal Education has announced that a high-level team from Google will be visiting Pakistan to explore potential collaboration in the education and technology sectors.

The team, comprising top officials, will be in Pakistan immediately after Eid.

The visit follows a request from the education ministry to Google to support Pakistan’s efforts to create a digitally-enabled education system. Advance teams from Google have already conducted preliminary work.

Education Secretary Mohyuddin Wani said the Google team would hold a national workshop with stakeholders to explore technology solutions for out-of-school children.

“Discussion on potential collaboration in education and technology sectors, exploring ways to tap Pakistan’s youth potential to create a digitally-enabled education system and other issues will also be discussed,” he added.

“We are thrilled to welcome the Google team to Pakistan and explore ways to leverage technology to improve education outcomes. This collaboration has the potential to transform the education landscape in Pakistan and expand access to quality education for all,” he said.

Primary students to receive tracksuits

Every student of a primary school under the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) will receive a tracksuit in the coming session.

“Our aim is to encourage students to engage in sports activities, promoting healthy bodies and minds. We want our young students to feel like sportspersons, developing a love for physical activity that will last a lifetime,” Wani said.

He said the goal of giving a tracksuit to every boy and girl student was aimed at encouraging students to engage in sports activities for healthy bodies and minds. He said the other goal would be to promote a love for physical activity from a young age.

“We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to develop their physical skills and build a strong foundation for a healthy lifestyle. This initiative is a step towards nurturing a love for sports and physical activity among our young students,” he added.
