Two brothers shot dead on Eid day, as many killed in different incidents
LARKANA: Two brothers were among four killed while one was injured during the Eid days in three different incidents in the district.
Some unidentified bike riders intercepted three brothers, also riding a motorcycle, and opened fire on them at Dodai bypass road in the jurisdiction of Mahota police station on the outskirts of Larkana.
Two brothers, Saeth Ali Gurgaij, 20, and Insaf Ali Gurgaij, died on the spot while their younger brother Ghulam Jan, 13, received bullet injuries. He was admitted to the Trauma Center Larkana.
Ali Jan Gurgaij, the father of the deceased, said they originally belonged to the village of Bahar Gurgaij in Garhi Khairo town and recently settled in Sanjjar Bhatti, a village of Qambar-Shahdadkot district.
He said their rivals had attacked his sons, killing two on the spot and injuring the third one on fake charges. “We have time and again given them clarification and tried to bury down the hatchet, but the accused did not accept it and shot dead his sons,” he said.
He appealed to Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, IGP, and DIG and SSP of Larkana to arrest the killers.
The SHO of Mahota police station in his preliminary findings shared with Larkana SSP Dr Mir Rohal Khan Khoso said the double murder was the result of an old dispute of Karo-Kari.
On the complaint of Ali Jan, an FIR was registered with Mahota police station against six unknown assailants. No arrests were made till filing of this report.
In another incident happened in the jurisdiction of Kanga police station, a gang of highwaymen intercepted Sajjad Gopang, a resident of Kotdeji (Khairpur Mir’s), when he going to meet his sister in Mirokhan town.
The robbers tried to snatch his motor bike, but when he resisted, they shot him dead on the spot in front of his wife, the sources said. The accused ran away with the bike.
Taking notice of the killing, Larkana DIG Nasir Aftab asked the Larkana SSP to trace and arrest the robbers and recover the motorcycle. The SSP has tasked Civil Lines DSP Dr Zahoor Ahmed Soomro to investigate the incident.
In the third incident, Ghulam Shabir Solangi was killed and Zeshan injured in the village of Gul Muhammed Tunio situated in the jurisdiction of Bakrani police station on Wednesday.
The initial report of police said a dispute was running between two brothers Atiqur Rehman and Habibur Rehman Soomro over heading the ‘Gadi’ of late Makhdoom Imam Bakhsh Soomro. Ghulam Shabir Solangi of Habibur Rehman side was clubbed to death while Zeshan Channa injured. He was admitted to Trauma Centre. Police have arrested Atiqur Rehman for investigation.
Manthar Solangi, the son of the deceased, had registered an FIR with Bakrani police station against six accused, four were nominated while two others mentioned as unknown.
