Deer dies of thirst at Narowal park

NAROWAL: A deer died at the Faiz Ahmed Faiz Park on Shakargarh Road in Narowal due to alleged unavailability of water in hot weather conditions on Monday.

The deer was stated to be one year old. According to reports, the park, managed by the Narowal Municipal Committee, does not have any proper arrangements to take care of animals during the extreme hot weather while there is no veterinary doctor available to take care of the animals at the park.

There are reports of death of many animals in the past too due to lack of facilities and alleged incompetence of officials.

Municipal Committee Narowal Chief Officer Muhammad Sardar said the deer was already sick and died of a heart attack. However, he could not tell about the doctor who was treating the sick deer.

Dr Muhammad Saeed, the deputy director of livestock, expressed his ignorance of the sickness or death of the deer.

Narowal Deputy Commissioner Syed Hasan Raza said humans and animals were being affected by the extreme hot weather these days. He said the deer did not die because of the missing water facility but because of a heart attack.
