SHO’s son left out of FIR over assault on youths in Larkana

LARKANA: Police late on Tuesday night registered an FIR against four police officials on charges of picking up two brothers and beating them up in Badah police station’s lockup.

Surprisingly, the FIR conspicuously does not have the name of main suspect, Naveed Solangi, SHO’s son who was accused by the victims as well as his family of detaining the boys and subjecting them to torture in the police station’s lockup despite being a civilian.

Advocate Abdul Rasheed Pathan, maternal uncle of Yasir Pathan, who studied MBBS in Kyrgyzstan, and Muzammil Pathan, a student of Iqra University, registered the FIR (No.39/2024) under Sections 342, 504, 337-A 1 against ASI Asadullah Shah, head constable Nadeem Hussain and constables Sadam Hussain Unnar and Ali Gul Unnar.

Nusrat Pathan, father of the victims, told Dawn on Wednesday that he had clearly mentioned the name of Naveed Solangi before the writing head constable but he had deliberately avoided to put down his name in the FIR.

He said that when he objected to it, police officials said the name had been accidentally left out. He would have the main suspect’s name inserted in the FIR on Thursday when he appeared in the court of sessions judge to record his statement under Section 161, he said.

He said that he was at the moment in Chandka Medical College Hospital to have his sons checked up and receive report as per police letter.

SHO transferred

Senior Superintendent of Police Dr Mir Rohal Khan Khoso has appointed Ghulam Mustafa Khoso as new SHO of Badah police station after having ordered incumbent SHO Rehmatullah Solangi to report to police lines.
