Gunmen abduct 13 labourers in Tank

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Gunmen abducted 13 labourers from Tator area of Tank district while they were repairing a 132KV transmission line on Friday.

However, district police officer Abdus Salam Khalid said that nine out of the 13 labourers were recovered by the police, and search for the remaining was continuing.

Mr Khalid said the labourers were working on 132KV transmission line within the limits of Shaheed Mureed Akbar police station in Tator village of Tank when they were kidnapped by unknown armed men.

He said that all the abducted labourers belonged to Punjab.

According to the DPO, the police cordoned off the area and launched a search operation. He said that the police rescued nine of the abducted labourers, while four were still missing.

Meanwhile, Dera Town police station issued an advisory notice to famous Seraiki poet Makhmoor Qalandary on the basis of threats to his life on Friday, advising him to keep his movement limited.
