Cyndi Lauper announces farewell concert tour

“Girls Just Want to Have Fun,” “True Colours” and “Time After Time” icon Cyndi Lauper is planning a farewell concert tour.

“It’s official!” Live Nation (entertainment company) wrote on X.

“Cyndi Lauper’s Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour is coming, and we couldn’t be more excited. Get ready to sing along to all your favourites and make some amazing memories ….”

The tour kicks off on October 18 in Montreal. Stops through December will include Toronto, Detroit, Boston, New York, Nashville, Tampa and Dallas.

Live-action Monster High in development

Mattel and Universal Pictures announced they are developing a live-action Monster High film. Akiva Goldsman will write and produce it with producer Robbie Brenner.

Monster High began as a series of monster dolls wearing high fashion in 2010. A series of animated films, video games and novels expanded the world of Monster High.

The live-action film is said to be an original story.

New CoComelon musical coming to Netflix

Netflix announced a new CoComelon Lane special titled CoComelon Lane: The Nursery Rhyme Musical. The 30-minute special, featuring Cece and her friends putting on a musical to celebrate their teacher, will premiere on August 19th.

Showrunners Guy Toubes and Brandon Violette lead the project, with animation by Atomic Cartoons and characters from Moonbug Entertainment Ltd. CoComelon remains one of Netflix’s most popular children’s shows, leading to its renewal for three seasons in 2021.

The special will expand the beloved world of CoComelon with more songs, stories and adventures.
