Quetta woman pleads for ‘missing’ husband’s recovery

QUETTA: The wife of an employee of the postal services claimed that her husband had gone missing and urged the government and law enforcement agencies to ensure his recovery.

Addressing a press conference on Saturday, the spouse of Zaheer Ahmed said he disappeared from Zarghoon Road on June 27 while returning home from work.

“If there are allegations against my husband, he should be produced in a court,” she pleaded.

She claimed that their home had been raided several times in the past without any reason.

In reply to a question, she said the family approached the Sariab police station to file an FIR, but no case has been registered so far.

Separately, family members of the seven people who were kidnapped from a picnic point in Harnai district on June 21 staged a protest in front of the Balochistan Assembly on Saturday.

Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove, Livestock Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar and Parliamentary Secretary Obaidullah Gorgage held talks with the protesters and informed them of the efforts being made to recover their loved ones.

Mr Langove later told the media that security institutions were making all possible efforts to recover the victims.
