34 booked for ‘celebrating’ murder of ex-taluka nazim

NAWABSHAH: Sanghar police registered another FIR, which was indirectly related to the murder of former taluka nazim, on Tuesday and booked 34 persons on charges of promoting hate and incitement to tribal violence after they were seen in a viral video celebrating the murder of Khuda Bux Dars.

The case was lodged after Sindh IGP took notice of the video circulating on social media showing members of Marri clan conducting aerial firing while celebrating the murder.

Khaai police registered the FIR (No26/2024) under Sections 153 A & B and 34 PPC against 34 persons including Gul, Sohrab, Feroz, Zulfiqar, Saddam, Mir Mohammad, Mohammad Khan, Bhallu, Anwar, Daim, Suleman, Allah Bux, Anwar, Sanwan, Allah Dino (all Marri clansmen), Mashooq Khaskheli and others, who were seen celebrating Dars’ murder.

Sanghar SSP Ghulam Nabi Keerio told media that the suspects were involved in incitement to violence and tribal war and efforts were under way to arrest them.

The former taluka nazim, who was a local leader of Grand Democratic Alliance, was gunned down along with his security guard when his vehicle was ambushed on a road between his village and farmland in Khipro.

Police had registered the case and arrested two out of five nominated accused.
