Man’s torso found in Malir

KARACHI: A man’s torso was found in Malir on Tuesday, police said.

They added that the torso of a male aged around 25 years was found near Memon Goth, Falaknaz Society.

Memon Goth SHO Sarfaraz Jatoi said the body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where he was identified as Irfan Ali. He said the police had ‘almost solved’ the case and the culprits would be taken to task and the media would be informed about it soon. He did not elaborate further.

However, the victim’s father, Jani Brohi, told the media that they originally hailed from Jacobabad and were living in Dalmia, Karachi. He said his deceased son worked at an insurance company whose office was located on Tariq Road.

The grief-stricken father said his son had informed a colleague at his company that a person, identified as Tabish Kutchi, had invited him [Irfan] for dinner in Malir’s Khokhrapar area on Monday night and since then his cell phone was off.

On Tuesday morning, to their horror, Irfan’s torso was found in Memon Goth. He urged the police authorities to arrest the killer(s) of his young son.
