Wonder Craft: Get ready for take-off!

Building model airplanes can be a fun and engaging hobby. Whether you are a seasoned hobbyist or a beginner, or someone who loves making crafts from everyday items. Today, we will construct a basic model airplane using craft sticks or Popsicle sticks.

Follow these instructions carefully, and you’ll have your own handcrafted airplane ready to take flight!

Things you need:

  1. Popsicle sticks (craft sticks, large ones): 14

  2. Scissors

  3. Hot glue

  4. Small black buttons: 3

  5. Paint or markers (optional)

Directions:

  1. To make the base of the airplane body, take six sticks and glue them together so that one side has a projection and the other side has a recess, similar to the front of the airplane; see pictures 2 and 3.

  2. As you glue the sticks together, they will form a staircase shape, (set this aside), picture 4.

  3. To make the top body of the plane, take three sticks and glue two of them together in a staircase manner, see picture 5.

  4. Before gluing the third stick, colour the tip (for one centimetre at least) and also the door and the windows using a black marker or paint, pictures 6 and 7.

  5. Now glue the third stick on top, picture 8.

  6. Glue the two sets of the sticks together, picture 9.

  7. To make the rear wing and tail, cut three pieces of 1.5 inches each, with one side cut diagonally, as in picture 10.

  8. Stick one piece in the centre on top of the rear of the plane, picture 11.

  9. Attach the rear wings on either side of the tail, picture 12.

  10. For the two main wings, cut two sticks to about one-third of their length, picture 13.

  11. Glue the wings slightly inclined backward at the bottom of the plane, as shown in picture 14.

  12. Paste two buttons to the wings and one in the middle of the bottom front of the plane, as in picture 15.

This craft stick airplane is quick and easy to make; you can even experiment with different stick sizes and colours for a variety of airplane styles.
