Jamaat to mobilise people for Islamabad sit-in

MARDAN: Jamaat-i-Islami will hold public meetings in different parts of Mardan district to mobilise people to attend the JI sit-in scheduled in Islamabad on July 12.

This was announced by JI’s Mardan chapter emir Ghulam Rasool during a press conference here on Sunday.

Other party leaders, including Fazal-i-Rabani Advocate, Mian Nadar Shah, Saeed Akhtar Advocate and Manzoorul Haq were also present.

Mr Rasool said that following the instructions of central emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, they were going to accelerate their mobilisation efforts to ensure participation of large number of people in the JI sit-in against the price hike, heavy electricity bills and excessive power loadshedding.

He condemned the bomb blasts in Bajaur and on the Jalala Bridge here, and said such activities were being carried out by anti-state elements.

He demanded of the government to announce compensation for those martyred and injured in the Jalala Bridge blast.

Ghulam Rasool alleged that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Pakistan Peoples Party were imposed over the nation.

He lamented that PTI leaders and workers had only been struggling for release of their party’s founding chairman Imran Khan, but they did not care for the problems of the countrymen.

On the occasion, other JI leaders alleged that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Ameen Gandapur was indulging in political point scoring and had no agenda for solution to people’s problems.

They claimed that the JI leadership had the capability to steer the country out of the current critical juncture.

They appealed to general public to join their caravan and move in large numbers to Islamabad for taking part in the sit-in on July 12.
