SUKKUR: Two children drowned in a fishpond at the edge of Aandal Marfani village in Garhi Yaseen taluka, Shikarpur district, late on Sunday evening.

Villagers said that Abu Bakar Marfani, 9, and Umar Marfani, 8, were playing near the fish pond, when they accidently fell into water and drowned.

The children’s families found the victims’ dead bodies in the pond when they came out of the village in search of the children.

Police said that they shifted the bodies to taluka hospital. The children were playing with an old tyre near the pond when they fell into it, they said.
