Girls clinch top positions in SSC exam

ISLAMABAD: Girls clinched top positions in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) annual exam of the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE).

According to results, the overall pass percentage remained 58.71 in SSC Part-I (9th class) and 88.20 in SSC-II (10th class). In 9th grade, a total of 143172 students appeared and 84051 of them were declared pass. Similarly, 127833 students appeared in 10th class exam and 112751 of them got through.

Secretary Education Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani was chief guest at a function held to announce the results at H-8 College. FBISE Chairman Syed Junaid Akhlaq briefed him about the results. The position holders, their parents and teachers attended the ceremony.

In Science Group, Zebadia Naseeb from Army Public School, EME College Campus, Peshawar Road Rawalpindi, got first position by getting 1087 marks. Hijab Fatima from Global School System, Sabzazar Rawalpindi Cantt, remained second by bagging 1085 marks while the third position was shared by two students - Mossadiq Shahbaz from Army Public School Golra Campus, Peshawar Road Rawalpindi Cantt, and Fatima Wajid from Fouji Foundation Model School Morgah campus Rawalpindi - by securing 1084 marks each.

In Humanities Group, Aqsa Farooq from Future Foundation School Misrial Road Rawalpindi Cantt clinched the first position by getting 1032 marks. Onaiza Jalil from DHA Senior School for Girls, DHA Lahore Cantt, got second position with 1025 marks followed by Mohammad Anas from Institute of Islamic Sciences, Satra Meel Islamabad, who stood third by bagging 1014 marks.
