FIA to counter hate speech on social media in Kohat
KOHAT: A team of cybercrime wing of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), currently visiting Kohat division, warned against uploading or sharing of hateful posts and videos on social media abouta person or community based on race, disability, religion, ethnicity or gender.
The FIA team asked the elders here on Saturday to take into confidence all groups, sects and stakeholders in this regard for peace in the region during the month of Muharram.
The officials made it clear that in case the guidelines were violated, stern action would be taken against the responsible persons.
Talking to Dawn the assistant director of FIA Fakhr e Alam said that three teams would be deputed for Hangu, 0rakzai, and Kurram districts by the FIA headquarters.
He said that keeping in view the sensitivity of these districts, combined and separate jirgas of Sunni and Shia community elders were being held by the deputy commissioners concerned.
He said that they would ensure foolproof measures for the peace during Muharram and they would leave no stone unturned for peace during Muharram.
