‘Faith healer’ in Faisalabad arrested for rape of follower’s daughter

TOBA TEK SINGH: Faisalabad’s Chak Jhumra police on Monday arrested a so-called faith-healer who allegedly raped a 16-year-old daughter of his follower, working as a house help at his residence.

City police spokesperson said a police team formed by the city police officer, headed by Madina Town police SP, arrested the suspect in a raid on a place in Faisalabad where he was hiding.

As per police sources, the girl, daughter of a follower of the suspect, was left at his house to work as a maid.

The survivor girl told the police that the suspect had been raping her for the last four months.

Her medical examination revealed that she was pregnant.

Taking notice of the heinous crime, Punjab Women Protection Authority (PWPA) chairperson Hina Pervez Butt had visited on Sunday the house of the survivor on behalf of the chief minister and assured her parents of arrest of the suspect.

ACCIDENT: A young man died and another injured critically after their car overturned on Monday near Rajana interchange on motorway M-3.

Rescue 1122 said both were returning to Toba from Pirmahal and when their car was near Chak 287-GB, suddenly a dog appeared on the motorway and when deceased identified as Rana Saad Latif (21), a jeweller, tried to save the dog, his car overturned as a result Saad and the other rider Muneeb Mushtaq (20) received serious injuries.

Rana Saad died on the spot while Muneeb Mushtaq was shifted to DHQ hospital.

It is worth mentioning that the fencing between Samundri and Pirmahal interchanges on both sides of M-3 had been cut away by thieves or had been broken due to which animals often come on the road and cause accidents.

Meanwhile, on Pirmahal -Rajana Road, a trailer hit a motorcycle as a result a woman identified as Samina Bibi (50) died and her son Iftikhar Ahmad (30) injured near Chak 103 GB Kohlan on Monday.
