BRT fares increased by Rs5-10

PESHAWAR: TransPeshawar, the operator of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), on Friday announced Rs5-10 increase in fares.

TransPeshawar spokesperson Sadaf Kamil, in a statement, said that the existing fares had been increased by Rs5 to Rs10, and this raise would come into force from July 22. She said that following the increase, the basic fare would go up to Rs20 from existing Rs15, while maximum fare had also been increased from Rs55 to Rs60.

Besides, she said that price of the single journey ticket had also been increased from Rs50 to Rs60. However, she said that ‘Zu Card’ prices would remain unchanged. Similarly, fare of the ‘Zu Cycle’ service would also not change.

Ms Kamil said that following the raise, the minimum balance requirement in the card for availing the bus service had also been increased from Rs50 to Rs60.

She said that TransPeshawar was committed to providing safe, cheap and environment-friendly transport to the residents of Peshawar.
