Matchbox Driving Adventures coming to consoles and PC
Mattel, Inc., the toy and family entertainment company, in collaboration with Outright Games, has revealed the first all-console and PC video game inspired by the die-cast collectible toy brand Matchbox™. Developed by Casual Brothers, Matchbox Driving Adventures will be available September 20, 2024, on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC available on Steam and the Microsoft Store.
It will allow players to unlock, customise and race digital versions of their favourite authentic Matchbox vehicles. Compete alone or with up to four friends in local multiplayer, and embark on epic missions across six diverse environments, speeding through various tracks all with multiple variants offering plenty of ways to put the pedal to the metal. Mattel will also adapt the brand into a live-action film.
Star Trek: Prodigy Season 2 coming to Netflix
Star Trek: Prodigy Season 2, saved by fan efforts, will premiere on Netflix, with all 20 episodes released at once. The animated series, originally on Paramount+, follows a group of aliens who find an abandoned Starfleet ship.
Season 2 features the crew under Admiral Janeway’s guidance, seeking the ship’s original owners. Kate Mulgrew returns as Janeway, joined by Brett Gray, Ella Purnell and others. The season will see Gwyndala and Dal R’El becoming official members of the Voyager-A.
This new season was brought back to life after a massive fan campaign following its initial cancellation by Paramount+ in 2023.
Wright teases return in Black Panther 3
Marvel star Letitia Wright, who plays Shuri in the MCU, hinted at her potential return in Black Panther 3 during a recent appearance on The View. Wright expressed her love for the character and hinted at future developments, saying, “There’s a lot coming up.”
The Black Panther franchise features Shuri stepping in as the new Black Panther after Chadwick Bosenan’s death. Although Black Panther 3 hasn’t been officially announced, Wakanda Forever did set up a sequel by introducing the son of King T’Challa (Boseman). It also ended with a card that stated: Black Panther will return.
