Five injured in Faisalabad shop fire
TOBA TEK SINGHG: Five people suffered burns after a fire broke out in a hairdresser’s shop on Dijkot Road in Faisalabad on Thursday night.
The fire was caused by a blast in an indoor air conditioner unit due to a gas leakage.
Rescue 1122 officials said all the injured were shifted to the burn unit of Allied Hospital and firefighters extinguished the fire.
The injured were identified as Usman, 28, Husnain, 23, Ali, 22, Raza, 24, and Asim, 24.
KILLS FATHER: A youth killed his father in Chak 215-JB, Mochiwala, Jhang, on Friday.
A police spokesperson said Aftab Ahmad, a drug addict, demanded money from his father, Zawar Hussain. When his father refused, Aftab axed him to death.
The suspect was arrested.
FIRING: One man died and three others were injured in an indiscriminate firing incident near the bus stop of Chak 37-GB in the Satiana police station area of Faisalabad on Friday.
Police identified the deceased as Asif Saleem, 28, of Chak 37-GB.
The injured were Bostan Mahmand of Peshawar, Naveed Bhatti of Chunian and Arshad Jogi of Chak 37 GB. They were shifted to Jaranwala THQ Hospital.
DEATH SENTENCE: District and Sessions Judge Abbas Rasool Warraich handed down a death sentence to Abid Ali and a life term to his co-accused Zeeshan on Friday in a murder case.
The court ordered both convicts to pay Rs500,000 each as compensation to the heirs of deceased Shahzad Butt of Nazimabad, who was shot dead by them two years ago for leaking information about their narcotics business to the police.
The court acquitted Arsalan, Falaksher and Arif, giving them the benefit of the doubt.
KIDNAPPED: Five unidentified people kidnapped two young women and a child from Chak 427 JB, Gojra, on Thursday night.
Complainant Mushtaq said in his FIR that Naila Bibi and Romana Bibi, the wives of his two sons, were asleep with a minor child when five car riders forced their way into his house and took his daughters-in-law and grandson, Shehroz, at gunpoint.
He added in the FIR that the accused also took gold ornaments worth more than Rs10 million.
Gojra Saddar police are investigating.
