E-billing launched for municipal services

SARGODHA: The digital payment system has been launched in the Sargodha Municipal Corporation.

The SMC is the first local government to achieve this milestone whereby the collection of MC bills, taxes and fees can be made through cell phone application. The Punjab local government minister inaugurated the system.

Commissioner and SMC administrator Muhammad Ajmal Bhatti said corporation taxes and bills would be sent to customers through app.

The commissioner said the purpose of e-billing was to collect the data of customers availing MC services. He said the services of those who did not pay taxes and bills would be suspended.

MEDICS: Doctors have promised to pay full attention to the prevention and treatment of thalassemia in Sargodha.

According to sources, a meeting was chaired by Professor of Pathology, Allama Iqbal Medical College, and Director General Punjab Thalassemia Programme Dr. Shabnam Bashir at the District Headquarters Hospital here on Friday.

TORTURE: A nine-year-old student of a seminary was tortured in Sargodha.

The DPO took notice and called for a report from the Laksian police station. Sources said Muhammad Taimur was shifted to a hospital with serious injuries. Police were searching for the accused.
