Class IX results announced

LAHORE: All boards of intermediate and secondary education (BISEs) announced the results of the class-IX annual examinations for 2024 on Friday.

A total of 287,000 candidates participated in the exams this year in Lahore, in which more than 127,000 students passed the exams.

The overall success rate for this year’s class-IX exams stands at 44pc, indicating a 6pc decrease compared to the last year’s results.

Earlier, the Multan BISE also announced the results of the first annual matriculation examination for 2024.

A total of 139,786 candidates appeared in the examination, out of which 69,169 passed. The overall pass percentage was 49.48.

In the Science group, 125,495 candidates appeared, out of which 62,439 passed with a percentage of 49.75. In the arts group, 14,137 candidates appeared, out of which 6,581 passed, with a pass percentage of 46.55. In the Deaf & Dumb group, 154 candidates appeared, out of which 149 passed, and five failed, resulting in a pass percentage of 96.75.

In the 2024 first annual 9th-grade examination, out of the total 69,169 successful candidates, 16,515 achieved an A+ grade, 16,743 secured an A grade, 20,618 obtained a B grade, 12,902 got a C grade, 2,374 received a D grade, and 17 candidates secured an E grade.

The district of Multan performed the best, with a pass percentage of 52.44. Vehari district came in second with a pass percentage of 50.56, followed by Lodhran at third place with 45.79, and Khanewal at fourth place with 45.38.

Additionally, 14 candidates were reported for using unfair means during the examination. Out of these, 9 were penalized after hearings, while 5 cases are still under investigation.

DERA GHAZI KHAN: 104,248 students participated in the exams, with 55,031 students passing, resulting in an overall pass percentage of 52.78.

Female students performed better, with 46,188 achieving a pass percentage of 61.95, while the 58,060 male students had a pass percentage of 45.5.

The Centre of Excellence Boys shined as its student, Nouman Waris secured 550/555 marks. Another student, M Arslan Iqbal, scored 547/555 marks.

TOBE TEK SINGH: In the Faisalabad, 194,249 candidates appeared in the examination, out of which 93,340 passed, resulting in a pass ratio of 48.05.

SARGODHA: The Sargodha board had 107,523 male and female candidates, of which 47,288 passed.

Among these, 91,139 regular candidates participated, and 41,176 students were declared successful, with a pass percentage of 45.18.

Also, 16,348 private candidates appeared in the exam, with 6,112 passing, resulting in a pass percentage of 37.30.

BAHAWALPUR: In Bahawalpur, out of 105,917 candidates, 46,642 were declared successful, showing a pass percentage of 44.04.

SAHIWAL: Up to 40.4 per cent of students passed the examination. Of 89,339 candidates, 36,094 passed the examination.

The passing percentage in the science group was 42.11, while in the arts group, it remained at 31.32.

Notably, all 70 special children who participated in the exams passed.
