MUZAFFARGARH: A student died by suicide after failing three subjects in the class IX results in Layyah district’s Chowk Azam on Saturday.

Umair Tariq, a resident of Ward No 6, took his life by ingesting wheat pills. The young boy died at the Chowk Azam Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, leaving his parents devastated with grief.

Umair Tariq was a student at Millat Public High School, Chowk Azam, and had secured 236 marks out of 555 in the exams. The 16-year-old had failed in mathematics, biology and physics.

The overall results of the Class IX exams were mixed.
