No play in Shaheens, Bangladesh ‘A’ game

ISLAMABAD: The third day’s play of the opening four-day match between Pakistan Shaheens and Bangladesh ‘A’ on Thursday was washed out due to persistent rain here at the Islamabad Club ground.

The umpires called off the day’s play an hour after the lunch was taken amid rainy weather in the federal capital.

Saad Khan (31 not out) and Kamran Ghulam (20 not out) will resume the first innings of Shaheens, currently placed comfortably at 367 for four courtesy 177-run knock by former Test batter Umar Amin, as they led by 245 runs in reply to the tourists’ 122.

For Bangladesh ‘A’, left-arm spinner Hasan Murad bagged two wickets for 49.

The second and final four-day match between the two teams will be staged at the same venue.
