Protest held against target killings, kidnappings
SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: Various clans of Wazir tribe of Lower South Waziristan district organised a demonstration at Wana to protest against growing unrest, target killings and kidnappings in the area.
The protesters, who were also joined by leaders of different political parties, demanded of the government to take action against anti-social elements and vehicles plying with tinted glasses in the area.
The protesters carried white flags and chanted slogans against growing lawlessness in the district.
Later, the protesters staged a sit-in and closed the Azam Warsak road to traffic for one hour.
Addressing the protesters, the speakers said that they held several meetings with the district administration and police, but district authorities had failed to take action against the miscreants.
