PFA seizes contaminated milk tanker

SARGODHA: The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) seized a tanker carrying milk reported to be harmful for human consumption at Bhera Interchange on Wednesday.

The raid was conducted based on intelligence indicating that a group supplying adulterated milk from Chak Mubarak near Bhalwal had resumed its activities.

The tanker, en route to Islamabad, was stopped by PFA officials at Bhera Interchange, where it was confirmed that the milk was injurious to health.

Up to 2,500 litres of contaminated milk was destroyed and a case was registered at Bhera police station against Azhar Hayat, Khalid Mahmood and Ghulam Raza Shirazi.

The police also took custody of the suspects’ vehicle.
