Cops’ children getting scholarships, says IGP

LAHORE: Inspector General of Police Dr Usman Anwar says that record scholarships are being given for the higher education of children of police employees.

In a statement, he said 1,445 students pursuing BS Honors have been awarded scholarships of over Rs82.2m to cover their fees in various districts, including Lahore. Similarly, Rs41.8m in scholarships had been awarded to 489 students enrolled in IT degree programmes. In total, over Rs124m has been distributed to students in both categories.

The IGP said the provision of quality higher education for police employees’ children is a top priority and every possible support is being ensured.
